A few words directly to you

Perhaps you know exactly why you are here. Perhaps you do not.

Both are okay.

Sometimes, “I am tired of feeling this way” is enough of a place to begin.

My hope is that Calm Mind Therapy can be a space where you feel comfortable enough to be yourself, safe enough to speak freely, and supported enough to begin finding the answers that are right for you.

Thank you for taking a few moments to read my words and learn about the heart behind Calm Mind Therapy. Whether our paths cross in a therapy room or you simply found something here that spoke to you, I am glad you stopped by.

I hope life begins to feel a little lighter and your mind a little quieter.

Warmly,

Maryam

Meet Maryam And Calm Mind Therapy

I have always been curious about people — not only about what we show on the outside, but about everything we carry quietly underneath.

For more than 15 years, my work has allowed me to understand people from many different angles. I began as a teacher and continued through social work, child development, neuroscience, psychology, and eventually psychotherapy.

Each chapter taught me something important. Teaching showed me that behaviour often tells a story that words cannot. Social work taught me to understand people within the context of their families, relationships, cultures, and life circumstances. Child development helped me see how our earliest experiences can shape the adults we later become. Neuroscience gave me a deeper understanding of the connection between our experiences, emotions, brains, and nervous systems.

Then psychotherapy became the umbrella that brought all of those pieces together.

It gave me a space to understand the whole person — their past and present, thoughts and emotions, relationships and environment, struggles and strengths — rather than focusing only on the problem that brought them through the door.

Why Calm Mind Therapy was born

Calm Mind Therapy officially came to life on August 6, 2025, but the idea had been growing in me for much longer.

I wanted to create more than a clinic. I wanted to create the kind of place people often need when life feels heavy, confusing, lonely, or simply too loud.

A safe place to land.

A place where you do not have to arrive prepared, polished, or certain about what you need. You do not have to organize your thoughts or find the perfect words before coming in.

You can bring the unanswered questions, the difficult relationship, the decision you cannot make, the grief you have been carrying, or simply the feeling that you are no longer quite yourself.

You can come to feel heard, understood, accepted, and genuinely cared for. You can explore what is happening beneath the surface, find practical solutions, gain clarity, and put down some of the weight you may have been carrying alone.

I chose the name Calm Mind Therapy because I believe some of the loudest noise in our lives comes from within — the overthinking, old hurts, responsibilities, fears, expectations, and endless conversations happening in our minds.

A calm mind does not mean a perfect life without difficulty. It means creating enough quiet inside to hear yourself again: your needs, your intuition, and the parts of you that may have been waiting for your attention.

I wholeheartedly recommend Maryam. Working with her has been one of the most meaningful and transformative experiences in my life. She creates a space that feels genuinely safe, calm, and free of judgment from the very first session.

Maryam has a rare ability to listen deeply while also guiding you with clarity and insight. She doesn’t just “hear” you — she truly understands. Through our work together, I’ve gained confidence, emotional awareness, and strength I didn’t even realize I had.

If you’re looking for a therapist who is compassionate, professional, grounded, and deeply present, Calm Mind Therapy is truly a safe place to begin.

Maryam is my absolute safe space, she is a professional in every way you can imagine. No judgments, focused and truly an amazing therapist. I have been seeing her, every week, for the past year and planning to continue ahead my journey with her.

I could not have this much progress and growth with anyone else. Absolutely trust her and recommend her. If in doubt, give her just one session, just one, and you would see her abilities and how she tailors every single intervention session.
